October 1924, a group of men assembled by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley met in the basement of the YMCA in Santa Ana, California, U.S.A., forming a club “to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.” The group took the name “Toastmasters.”

ORMOND SpeechMasters, designated SELECT DISTINGUISHED, is a local chapter of Toastmasters International.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests.

In October 2007, Ormond Speech Masters, a Toastmasters International club, located in Ormond Beach, Florida, was established to assist men and women in our Central Florida community to become more confident when making a public presentation. Ormond Speech Masters received its charter on June 1, 2008.

You can join our network of clubs and participate in the learn-by-doing program to  become a better speaker and leader in a friendly, nurturing, professional environment. You'll have fun, make new friends while you receive tips and practice delivering speeches.

Relax. Everyone in our Ormond SpeechMasters club was once at the level you are now. We provide a friendly, supportive, environment, with a self-paced program which allows YOU to build confidence with each assigned speech project. Your greatest reward will be the applause!

Constructive, informative evaluation is the basis of the Toastmasters program.
